Updated: May 1, 2020
Due to covid-19, in-person SpringBoard professional learning sessions have been postponed. In response to this postponement, the program will be offering a robust virtual support strategy for teachers this summer.
These on-demand, online modules provide teachers the skills needed to use SpringBoard to support students in achieving success with college and career readiness standards. These modules can be accessed on the SpringBoard Digital platform.
Virtual Foundations Cohorts
We know how important preparation is when beginning a new program; therefore, we are offering free Virtual Foundations Cohorts, which extend learning from the on-demand E-learning Module Series for new SpringBoard teachers. These optional, virtual classes are led by our expert National Faculty and have a maximum of 20 participants per cohort. Teachers meet with their cohorts twice a week over the course of two weeks, for 90 minutes each session. Leaders will meet with their cohorts once per week over the course of two weeks, for 90 minutes each session. Cohorts will run every two weeks from June 8 through August 7, 2020. We have a variety of days and times available. Registration begins May 11, 2020.
SpringBoard Summer Learning Webinar Series for Education Professionals
We are offering a series of free webinars to: provide relevant strategies; share best practices; highlight changes to our SpringBoard Digital platform, learn how to integrate partner programs like Revision Assistant, Zinc, and Desmos; and prepare for the 2020-21 academic year in light of the current environment. These virtual sessions present opportunities for learning for all educators, whether they are new to SpringBoard , or classroom veterans looking to enhance their instructional approach. Webinars will be hosted live by College Board staff, along with SpringBoard teachers and administrators, from mid-June through mid-August. All sessions will be recorded and posted.
Registration begins June 1.
SpringBoard Digital Office Hours
Every Tuesday and Thursday at 3 p.m. ET through May 14, SpringBoard will host office hours for teachers and leaders looking for support using SpringBoard Digital. Sessions will provide answers to your questions, cover topics that include basic functionality, show where to locate helpful resources, and give an overview of tools to support distance learning. Please ensure you have access to SpringBoard Digital prior to joining a session; if you need assistance with access, view the getting started guide (.pdf/2.88 MB).
- Join the meeting any Tuesday or Thursday at 3 p.m. ET to participate.
Resources to Support Distance Learning
We've developed two new resources to support educators as they continue to offer distance and virtual learning. These resources are available in the SpringBoard Digital Community, on our “Supporting Virtual Classrooms” page.
- Supporting Students' Learning: We recognize that remote learning solutions can't be—nor should be—"school as usual," simply delivered in a virtual environment, nor will every solution meet the needs of every school and district. Instead, this resource provides general guidance around supporting learning during these unique circumstances, to be used in conjunction with your local school, district, and state guidance.
- Khan Academy® Resources for SpringBoard Mathematics: These resources identify Khan Academy instructional videos aligned to SpringBoard activities to support the needs of all learners in your classroom. This updated, easy-to-use format can be distributed directly to students, providing opportunities to learn and practice.
The SpringBoard Program is closely monitoring the updates and guidance about the coronavirus (COVID-19) provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other leading health organizations. Our first concern is for the health and safety of students, their families, and their school communities.
To help schools and students, we’re focused on providing flexible and streamlined support for teachers who will be delivering virtual or distance learning experiences to students, many for the first time.
We’ve created a page in our community to provide support resources, including customizable student-facing directions on how to log in, and so much more. We will continue to provide additional resources at this location; we encourage you to visit regularly or choose to follow the page, so that you receive automatic updates. To access the page, log in to SpringBoard Digital and click on the “Community" tile. It’s important to remember that SpringBoard has always valued the role of the educator in teaching and learning; we encourage teachers to add in their own thoughts, approaches, and instructions as appropriate.
If you need support logging in, please reach out to [email protected].
